Asmita Wele, MD (Ayurveda)

Dr. Asmita Wele is the professor and head of the department of Rasashastra and Bhaishajyakalpana Vigyan [Ayurveda pharmacology] at College of Ayurveda Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University in Pune, India. She is also Honorary Professor, University of Debrecen, Hungary. Her expertise lies in designing and execution of end to end research projects of Ayurvedic formulations. She has been Principle investigator of DST project, AYUSH projects, and member of AYUSH-International Co-operation committee, of scientific advisory committee of Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar and of BoS and Academic Council of BHU, Varanasi. She has delivered more than 100 lectures as a resource person in several interdisciplinary workshops and conferences and on public platforms. She has published over 40 research papers, articles, chapters and also authored a book on research methodology. She is a reviewer for some indexed journals from Elsevier, Scopus and PubMed databases. Her areas of special interest are Asthma, Cancer and Neuropsychology and Nutrition apart from her expertise in Ayurveda drug development. Consistent with her family legacy of ‘Vaidya’ tradition from Goa, Dr. Asmita has earned her BAMS. and MD degrees from the University of Poona. Dr Asmita is an active member of many organizations. She has travelled to Europe, USA, Mexico, Africa, Nordic countries, Middle East, UK etc on professional assignments. Consistent with her family legacy of ‘Vaidya’ tradition from Goa, Dr. Asmita has earned her B. A. M. S. and M. D. degrees from the University of Poona (SPPU). She is also a practicing physician of Integrative lifestyle management for Cancer, Respiratory Diseases, Sleep disorders, and PCOD.

Kitty Victoria, MD is a Board Certified Hematologist and Oncologist at Kona Community Hospital in Hawaii. Awarded in High-Value Care, Patient Safety and Quality Improvement. She specializes in Integrative Medicine, Integrative Oncology, Ayurvedic Medicine, Yoga Therapy, Mindfulness, Meditation and Plant-Based Nutrition. Her research includes publications in palliative care, cannabis medicine, genetics and breast cancer. She is founder and President of Aloha Ayurveda, a nonprofit organization. The organization's mission is to educate and inspire leaders in Integrative Ayurvedic Medicine with aims to bring education and therapies to our community and patients. Currently she is also working on building a location in Hawaii where students may come and learn hands-on as part of their Ayurvedic training in botanical medicine, permaculture, animal welfare, clinical yoga, and cooking.

Prof. Kishor Patwardhan currently works for the Department of Kriya Sharir, Faculty of Ayurveda, Banaras Hindu University. His doctoral work was on identifying various issues, concerns and challenges of Ayurveda Education in India which he executed through a Nation-wide survey that involved Ayurveda students and teachers. He is involved in developing and evaluating different teaching-learning methods for Kriya Sharir. He has lectured in India and abroad on various topics such as Ayurveda physiology, academic writing, research methods, educational research, and education policy. He has received ‘AYUSH-sponsored Vaidya-Scientist Fellowship’ from TDU, Bengaluru. His research interests include Ayurveda biology, Ayurveda Education and Policies on Higher Education. He is a recipient of Dr. C Dwarikanath Award of Indian Association for the Study of Traditional Asian Medicine [IASTAM-India] for the year 2019. He is an Editor of the Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine. He has worked as a member of Scientific Advisory Committees of IPGT&RA (Jamnagar), CCRAS and School of Life Sciences, MAHE.
